How can I be sure of the quality and confidentiality of your service?
All of our translators have a postgraduate degree in translation and/or interpreting, a minimum of 5 years’ experience and they only translate into their native language so you can rest assured that you will receive the highest quality work on your projects. All work is proofread by the translator and if required, we can get a second linguist to check over the translation for you.


We operate a strict client confidentiality code meaning that you can be sure that the contents of any documents will be treated with sensitivity.

How do you price your services?
Translation costing-We quote most translations per thousand words. The price will vary depending on the languages involved. We also factor in timescale and document complexity into our pricing as well and as a result we quote on sight of the document and each project is priced individually.


What’s the difference between machine, computer-assisted, and human translation?
Human translation is when the translation is performed by humans without the help of a computer program. With computer-assisted translation, it is still the human who carries out the actual translation, only the computer will store the translation of each word or phrase in its translation memory. When that particular word or phrase is entered again, it will auto-translate it. The translator has the ability to confirm or correct the translation so that the context is correct.  Machine translation is literally just that, a translation carried out by a machine. Machine translation has drastically improved since its first invention, and there is a place for it for translating basic holiday phrases or just to get a basic understanding of something but when it comes to any text that is more technical or for marketing or customer facing purposes, human translation wins every time. Humans understand context, which a machine cannot and so will always come out on top in terms of producing high-quality translations.
Can I get my website translated?
Of course! And you should if you want to do business in foreign markets as according to a 2011 survey by Gallup, 90% of people prefer to read websites in their native language and a 2014 survey by the Common Sense Advisory showed that 75% of people prefer to read product or service information in their language on the internet prior to committing to a purchase.
Do I need a certification for every translation?
Certification is normally only required for legal documents such as statements or marriage certificates but we do offer certification should this be required.
What kind of certification do you provide?
We offer translation certification stating that the translation is a true and accurate translation of the original document and stamp this with a home office approved stamp so this can be used for official documentation. We can also get a document notarised through a notary public official.
My friend is French, can he translate my document?
That depends on the nature of your translation. If it is an informal document or one for personal use then that is fine, if it is something more official or for business use then we would suggest getting your translations carried out by professionals. A good translation company will have things like professional indemnity insurance and a large network of professional translations who specialise in various different subject areas so much better equipped to deal with your project.
I only have a few sentences, can I use Google translate?
Again, it depends on what the sentences are for. If they are for personal use and you just want to get the idea of what something means then Google translate is a worthwhile tool to use. If it is for business or official use then a professional translator should always be the one to help you.
How many languages do you translate into or from?
We operate in all major world languages. For any languages that are more specialised or rare, get in touch and we will do our best to help you.
Can I just ask for proofreading?
Yes, we offer proofreading services and these are charged on a time basis. Please get in touch with us via admin@itltranslations.com if you would like a quote for this service.


What is my quote based on?
As with translation, interpreting prices depend on the languages involved. We charge a standard rate by the hour with a minimum charge of three hours. Travel time and expenses are also accounted for with your quote.
What happens if I need to cancel or postpone?
If you need to cancel or postpone an interpreting appointment then please let us know as soon as possible. Cancellation or postponement more than 48 hours prior to the event is free, we have a 50% charge if cancelled or postponed between 48-24 hours before the event and if it is within 24 hours we will require the full payment.
Do I need to provide you with anything on the day?
No, we will send the details to the interpreter of the appointed meeting place, time and the contact they will be meeting.
