Interpreting

ITL can provide interpreters throughout the UK, and occasionally also in Europe. All our interpreters are either qualified to a professional level, or are members of the ITI (Institute of Translation and Interpreting) or the IOL (Chartered Institute of Linguists) – both of whom have rigorous entry requirements.
For public service interpreting (legal, health, welfare etc), we prefer to use interpreters on the NRPSI register (National Register for Public Service Interpreting). People on this register abide by a Code of Conduct which is strictly enforced.

We will endeavour to find someone who meets your needs who lives within a certain radius of the appointed venue. This cuts down on travel expenses, and also means that an interpreter will be more likely to be available for repeat bookings (a court case, for instance).
ITL also offers a telephone interpreting service, for which fees are calculated on a time charge (plus the cost of the call). This is used mainly by companies dealing with overseas suppliers, etc, but can also be provided for one-off calls.
